Nativity

This year on Christmas Eve, Bleaks came over and we acted out the nativity scene. Tyler read for us, Alexa was Mary, Cody was Joseph, Irish was the angel, Mason was a Shepard . Emma is a sheep and I played the wise man but Tyler jumped in for the picture. Oh yea, Mojo is the donkey. LOL.

Snow fun

So....We got a bunch of snow this week. Yay! We have had lots of fun playing in it. We took the 4wheelers over to Bleaks field and pulled an old truck bed liner as a sled. It was super fun!

Red hills

Over Thanksgiving, we showed my newest brother and family, one of my favorite places on earth. The Dixie red hills. Since I was a kid, I have been coming here to what we called, "the narrows". This time I got to do some climbing. This was an unplanned climb so I am in tight jeans and barefoot...not the best climbing attire. Nonetheless, it was great. We hiked around and Tyler even gave me a piggy back. I can't believe my widdle baby tywer is strong enough to hold me!

Recycled quilt

Here is my latest project. I am making a quilt out of recycled materials. There are basically three parts to the quilt...one is old jeans that my kids have worn out, second is scraps from different sewing projects I've made over the years (for example: a quilt Ken and I made tyler, costumes I've made for the kids) and third, drawings and hand prints from when they were all small. It will be a treasure! I am taking an Enviromental science class and we've talked a lot about waste and recycling and I've been meaning to do this for years so it is a great Final for the class :)

Snow!

We finally got some snow! Yay! Cody and Alexa made a tiny snowman. (it's in Cody's hand) and alexa decides she doesn't like the snow and gets dressed up super warm. Cody and I had to hide our snickers when she came out dressed like this. lol. What a goof.

Little off Broadway 2009

Little Off Broadway is officially over. It was a lot of fun again. I sang Can't Get a Man With a Gun from Annie get your gun. I had TONS of fun with it and even shot a loud blank in the middle of the song that made everyone jump each time. It was GREAT! LOL! I also did the intro this year and had a good time with it. Already starting to think about next years music and recruiting. Most likely our director will be on a mission so...what to do? Will I take on the directors roll or find someone else???

Fall 2009

It is definitely fall now. The cooler weather is great. We had lots of fun on our day off today. We played in the leaves, went to an apple orchard (look how the ground changes color due to the different kinds of apples on the ground) It was lots of fun to shake the trees and have apples rain down on and around you. And then we went to a pumpkin patch and gathered pumpkins for Lucy to eat. Oh, and then, we killed our only rooster and ate it for dinner. LOL. Weird!

BSU

BSU game! The boys were sooo excited!

Halloween 2009

Our trip to Idaho was lots of fun! Most of us went to a corn maze while Spenc, Ken, Tyler and Cody went to a BSU football game. At the cornmaze, we went on a hayride, went to a pumpkin patch (and threw rotten pumpkins at each other), had yummy fresh donuts, looked at baby animals in the petting zoo, and the little kids went on a barrel train ride. After we took the kids trick-or-treating, I dressed up like a tree and scared people as they come to the door! It was loads of fun! Especially as one adult nearly peed himself! LOL

Supergirl

Alexa got to dress up for preschool today. She looked so cute in her messy buns and glittered face. I don't know why she is standing with one leg popped and her hands out but....LOL. Maybe she learned that at dance class.

Pinenuts, take two...

Ken was out of town this weekend and I decided it was our last chance to go get pinenuts. I invited Mindy, who's hubby was also gone and whom had never been pinenut picking before, to go with me. We loaded up 2 vehicles with children, food and a set of directions. We headed North and over past Eagle Valley. I love the area out there so I took a few pictures. It was a beautiful day!And the lake was gorgeous! Tyler spotted an old cemetary so we stopped and looked around. It's all from the mid 1800's. Our goal was to find this particular "old cabin". If we found that (and the pinenuts, of course) we had followed the directions correctly. I'd say we drove for about 2 hours and after a few back tracking episodes, WE FOUND IT! Pretty good for a couple of non map reading moms! LOL. (And can i just say...monster pinenuts!?)

Baby Alexa

Alexa is so funny. Sunday the kids were tired of watching church movies so I pulled out the home movies that have been long forgotten. Alexa hasn't ever seen them so she was VERY excited to see (especially) herself as a baby. I keep hearing her call to me, "Mom! I'm SOOO cute!!!" And "I LOVE ME!!!" She watches them over and over again. And says the same thing over and over again. It cracks me up!

Pinenut picking?

We decided to go pinenut picking. It was a beautiful day Saturday! (finally!) We went South of town and didn't find a single pinenut! LOL. Thank heavens Cody got some when he went with Frehners the same day. We had a fun drive out in the hills in the jeep and Tyler even got to drive for a while. Good times!
